Moncalisse Millesimato presents a luminous straw-yellow color and a fresh, immediate aromatic profile, opening with a floral bouquet of hawthorn, elderflower, and wisteria, enriched by refined notes of acacia and yellow blossoms. The fruit is rich and precise: green apple and Williams pear, peach, and plum, with subtle exotic hints of pineapple. Citrus nuances emerge alongside mountain herbs and a pleasant trace of toasted hazelnuts, complemented by delicate resinous undertones. On the palate, it shows a fine, creamy perlage, underpinned by taut, vibrant freshness. The well-defined acidity lends rhythm and liveliness, while the minerality carries the flavor development. The structure is balanced and solid, with a retronasal finish that recalls the fruity and floral notes of the nose. The long, persistent finish is marked by elegant minerality and a subtle bitter edge, enhancing its depth and complexity.
Climate trend
Hand-harvested in early September 2019, the Chardonnay grapes benefited from a balanced growing season, characterized by slow ripening and an ideal balance of acidity and sugar. A cooler-than-usual spring and early summer encouraged gradual, steady maturation, while the following splendid autumn allowed the ripening process to continue into a relatively late harvest.
The result is a vintage of remarkable elegance and expressive purity, confirming 2019 as an excellent year for white wines.
Pairing
Its taut freshness and delicate floral notes invite elegant, vibrant pairings: ideal with amberjack tartare served with citrus, oysters with yuzu pearls, or raw scampi drizzled with basil and lime oil. The fine, creamy perlage pairs gracefully with vegetable tempura or a zucchini blossom and saffron risotto, highlighting every nuance with its mineral energy and bright, citrus finish.

VInes
Situated between 550 and 600 meters above sea level in Seregnano, Civezzano, the Chardonnay vineyards that produce our Millesimato allow the grapes to ripen slowly, nurtured by strong day-to-night temperature swings and steady mountain breezes that temper the climate and preserve the vine’s natural balance. Here, the grapes reach their truest expression, thanks to low yields and careful hand-harvesting that preserves the quality of each cluster. In this vineyard, amid silence and light, each year’s fruit transforms into sparkling wine of remarkable freshness, with a distinct sense of place.
